A village made up of 52 houses and buildings surround the quarter-mile of outdoor track at the Holiday Garden Railway exhibit at the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
The holiday season is upon us, brightened by decorations peeking onto the streets from house windows and adorning front lawns, lighting up storefronts and public spaces.
The exhibit’s quarter-mile of outdoor track features seven loops and tunnels, 13 different rail lines, two cable cars and nine bridges, one of which visitors can even walk under.
Surrounding the train tracks is a village of 52 miniature houses that replicate historic buildings in Philadelphia, including City Hall, Betsy Ross’ house, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Philadelphia Art Museum and more.
